Meditations on Jesus Christ

Death, Burial, and Resurrection – Part 1

Understanding the Feasts of God in the Old Testament

I am not a Biblical scholar or teacher and do not pretend to be one. My understanding of the Feasts of God has come from studying the Scriptures over the past couple of years. I am, in essence, sharing my study notes with you. I pray that you will search this out for yourself – you may come to the same conclusions that I have. In this short series, I will be writing about the first three feasts.

Learning how the Feasts are observed helps one to understand the events and timeline surrounding the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
1) Passover – death
2) Feast of Unleavened Bread – burial
3) First Fruits – resurrection

The Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits are observed concurrently. In the first month 1 (Nisan/Abib), Passover starts on the 14th 2 , Unleavened Bread on the 15th 3 , and First Fruits is on the first day 4 (Sunday) after the weekly Sabbath (Saturday) during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
